Letter to Russian mass media from mother of Sayeed al-Buryati

May Allah reward all Muslims who sincerely worried for my son, all those who wholeheartedly supported him and us. When I read your comments about Sayeed's Martyrdom, for me, as his mother, this loss becomes easier. Because your support preserves my faith.

And only now, I clearly realize that all that Sayeed tried to propagate was not in vain. And his first intentions, when he for the first time read Russian translation of Quran, are coming true.

I do not have a talent to express my thoughts as clearly as my son did, and I don't actually need one. But for the sake of justice I cannot be silent when the headlines and the information in Russian media are full of made-up stories about his life, starting from his school period up to the "Nevski Express".

When it comes to time when he was a kid, even then in the kindergarten which Sayeed was attending, the kindergarten teachers asked me to pay attention to him, because he seemed very unusual child to them, and even back then he puzzled them with his unchildish questions. And, do I even need to speak about his school, when in the 6th grade he already had such a deep knowledge of history, and in other humanities subjects likewise, and what the teachers tried to teach there wasn't equal to his knowledge. He was interested in school only when there was something he could learn from his teachers, the rest of his time he spent in the city libraries.

The unique ability of his memory has puzzled me many times. I even asked him once: "I don't understand, how you do it, how can you read books on different subjects, all at the same time, and be able to retell the pages full of dates and names, and not in general terms?" And Sayeed replied to me: "I'm more amazed by the fact, that I may repeat same names and dates more than ten times, but people still do not remember them!"

And this was said not because of his pride, meaning "look how smart I'm"! No! He really regretted it, and it seemed to him that he is doing something wrong, or that he is not delivering his lectures right.

So, when he read the translation of Quran for the first time he said: "Now, I know what I want in life. I want to embrace Islam, I want to learn about this religion and spread it to other people, so everyone can live in justice as it is written in this Book."

And this was in Buryatia, when he was 17 years old, and he almost immediately started to perform namaz (salat), at the beginning not the way it should have been done, because back then it was almost impossible to find any literature on this subject.

He had only a small booklet with a description of namaz (salat), and it wasn't hard for him to memorize it. The same year, he started to search for people who can tell him anything about Islam, but he could not find anything except of a couple of books from the library.

So, after we talked things over, we decided that we need to address a mosque, and the closest one was in Irkutsk city, and he went there. I've got to hand it to the Imam of that mosque, he immediately responded to Sayeed's wish to study the religion. Of course, imam was pretty much surprised, because it was for the first time when a young man from Buryatia approached him with an intention to be part of this religion and also to start studying it.

The imam directed him to Moscow Islamic Institute, so with such clear and sincere intentions he started his way to knowledge.

After he has studied there for 2 years, he continued his education in Egypt. After his return from Egypt in 2003, Sayeed continued to study and work in Moscow. And in 2004, he underwent 4 months study course of Arabic language in Kuwait.

He was not alone there, a big congress with participants representing many countries, was held there. So, the ignorant journalists who do not posses any information about Sayeed's life, need to stop to ascribe to him a "special training" in some kind of made up "special training camps" in different countries.

And in 2007, Sayeed performed Hajj to the sacred house of Allah. And that is it for Sayeed's foreign trips, too bad that the Russian media wants to invent something else.

I'm providing this information only for the justice regarding my son. And of course it mostly concerns Russian media. Because, no matter how hard they try to sniff something out about his personal life, they are not succeeding. And the silence from the part of close to Sayeed people, makes information hungry journalists invent stories.

The media is trying to ascribe to Sayeed something incredible, mentioning the last names of our neighbors who have never existed in real life, the stories about him changing different religions, and many more other things.

Therefore, I would like to reassure all the followers of Buddhism and Christianity that Sayeed did not "betray" your religions, because he has never practiced them.

If anyone is worried by the fact that he is well educated in many canons of different religions, it is only because of the knowledge of an educated person with wide interests and excellent memory.

With the same passion he could talk about ancient civilizations, people and even tribes, it was very interesting for Sayeed. He was searching for the purpose of life, the reason why a man was created, and praise be to Allah, he has found it only in Islam. So, don't even mention about him studying in a Buddhist school or a Turkish lyceum (when the Turkish lyceum was opened where we lived, Sayeed had already gone for knowledge to Moscow).

Therefore, you Russian journalists, leave the Buryat lamas without Sayeed's company. Moreover, if we speak about his ancestors, they are from Irkutsk Buryats who also have nothing to do with Buddhism, and his grandmother from father's side is Kazakh.

It may seem strange to some people, but for those who were born and raised living in Siberia, there is nothing strange in a big quantity of mixed marriages, because the population here in its majority are the descendents of once deported to Siberia people of different nationalities.

And this concerns me as well; we are all Russians according to our passports, but I'm not actually Russian myself. So, I would like to "disappoint" all the spiteful critics regarding the phrase "father is a Buddhist, mother is a Christian". I was never a Christian, and also was looking for truth in this life and when searching in the books about religions did not find anything intelligible, until I came across an article by A. Men "The Son of Man", you should remember him; he was the Christian archpriest who was slain with an axe.

So, this article brought me to Islam, even thou it may sound very odd. And the author writes that Jesus (Isa) when addressing God in ancient Aramaic language called Him "Ellah"!!! And I went hot and cold all over from the truth that the name of God is Allah, and Jesus also called Him Allah. And when finally I realized the truth then everything found its right place and the heart was soothed by the knowledge. And this happened 2 years before Sayeed embraced Islam, I was asking Allah, and making prayers to make my son become a Muslim, and Allah has heard my prayers, and He actually until these days answers all sincere prayers. Allhamdullilah!

Of course, for us, Sayeed's family, it is a great loss, because he indeed was a beloved son, brother and husband. And he has left his comfortable life in the Moscow apartment at the time when indeed we were living in prosperity and harmony. And this proves once again that he had to make a very tough choice at that moment. He understood that he will lose everything and also make us lose everything, but he did not abandon his choice until the end.

This little information is all that I wanted to share for the sake of authenticity and in order to expose the journalist's lies around name of my son.

''Subway blasts is a result of Putin's crimes in the Caucasus''

Explosions in the Moscow subway are a result of the Russian criminal toward Caucasus in general and Chechnya in particular, said Yuli Rybakov, a well-known human rights activist and a former state duma deputy.

The method used by Putin and Russia have led to adequate results.

"We have now a regime which is 10 times worse than what we had in the early 90s - Rybakov says. - An aggression, which is increasing every day and every year, is coming from the Caucasus in response to our actions.

In the beginning of this campaign, Muslims were fully unaggressive. The war made them aggressive. And it is not surprising: in Chechnya every fourth was killed in the war. Then why are we to be surprised that violence has returned to us? This is the result of our policy in the Caucasus".

"Violence and the abuse of human rights has continued in Chechnya", according to a number of human rights organizations. A number of aid workers and human rights activists have been abducted and murdered.

According to Amnesty International, "The authorities in Chechnya have continued to intimidate and persecute human rights defenders and those who seek justice for abuses. Several have been forced to leave the country due to threats to their lives", the CNN reports from Moscow.

Meanwhile, blasts in Moscow metro have seriously affected the working rhythm of the transport system of Moscow. Additional bus routes were organized, traffic police restricted entry to the city center to avoid traffic jams, taxi drivers turn up their prices for travel.

As some of Russian agencies wrote the subway attack paralyzed the transport system of Moscow. A third transport ring is standstill in a traffic jam.

The central part of the city is closed for cars. Several roads to Lubyanka metro station have been blocked. The same picture is in the vicinity of Park Kultury station.

Movement almost stopped on the outside of the Garden Ring.

"Meanwhile, Moscow taxi drivers decided to cash in on the tragedy", some Russian papers indignantly wrote.

People who came out of the subway are afraid to go down into the subway and hailing taxi, there are a lot of them, and cars in the center are quite a few. As RIA News reports, taxi drivers increased prices to almost 3,000 rubles ($ 100) per passenger for a short ride.

They are on duty at the subway stations where the explosions occurred, and inform citizens that the station is closed.

Russian society shocked. Russians accuse Putin

According to Russian media outlets, in Moscow radio programs devoted to subway bombings, ordinary citizens have expressed their view that this was the work of Russian secret services, whose purpose is to further "tighten the screws" of "ungirdled" society that dared to criticize and demand the resignation of Putin.

The reaction to the bombings is: that even, if the attacks have been really carried out by the Caucasian Mujahideen, the Russian society is now inclined to blame Putin and the FSB for the bombings.

A 10-year incessant talk about the "victory" in the Caucasus and the "pacification of Chechnya" is a de facto approval by Russia's public of a campaign of monstrous terror in Chechnya, which killed 250 thousand civilians, including 42 thousand Chechen children from 0 to 11 of age, led to an extension of the war far beyond Chechnya.

Today, it is more and more evident that a moment of truth has come to the Russian society.

It is obvious that the Russian society does not want itself to answer for their criminal acts - for the murder of a quarter million people. Therefore, according to the law of genre, a chief culprit should be named. And it would be likely Putin, even if the Martyrs' Brigade Riyad-us-Saliheen would later claim responsibility for the Moscow metro attacks.

Hence the explanation of Putin's hysteria, who after the bombings said he is immediately returning to Moscow and demanded, as he did 10 years ago, to "rub out terrorists in the outhouse".

However, a threatening movement of his pale eyebrows and lump horns on his forehead do not impress anybody anymore. It turns out that Putin is guilty in every case.

"If as a result, subsequent calls to the authorities to toughen and "tighten the screws", to increase the funding for law enforcement agencies, are heard, there will be no shadow of a doubt that these explosions are the handwork of special services, Russian citizens say.

A society's movement for a change of the inefficient, corrupt system of the Putin's "vertical of power" is growing. Demands "Putin must go" sound from all the sides, from all the groups of the society, even from his closest associates. In these circumstances, the current government could be capable for every provocations and atrocities, just in order to stay in power.

No trust of many citizens is left anymore in the current government", commentators and journalists write.

"In Putin's Russia the bombings are the most important part of politics. Putin's Russia started with the bombings. And after 10 years, the society has not seen any other explanation for these explosions, but as "the hand of the FSB".

For 10 years, no one took responsibility on them and said a word, like, we blew you up to achieve that and that. The amazing feature of Putin's Russia is: Terrorism in full anonymity.

Since then, terrorism in Putin's Russia, for the most part, is anonymous. Trains derailed, planes fell, subway cars exploded - and no one makes any demands. Guess yourselves, they say, what we wanted to achieve. And this Hollywood thriller has been continuing for 10 years already.

Now, even more interesting, would Putin's Russia end with the blasts, as it had begun?"- a former editor of the former Russian opposition paper Moskovsky Komsomolets Anatoly Baranov asks and concludes --

"Putin's Russia began with the explosions in Moscow, Volgodonsk and the "FSB exercises" in Ryazan. Putin's Russia has been bombing itself for 10 years with and without any reason.

So finally, take away a TNT charge from this fool!"

AIMPLB concerned over Indo-Israel relations, CV Bill, fake encounters

By Faisal Fareed, TwoCircles.net,

Lucknow: The Executve Committee (EC) of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) in its 21st annual convention on Sunday expressed concern over growing Indo-Israel relations.

"For Israel we should stick to Nehruvian era and follow the same approach. Following Gandhi's views, India should oppose the atrocities on Palestinian people," said Maulana Abdul Raheem Qureshi, the assitant general secretary of the board while interacting with reporters on the concluding day of the board's convention in Nadwatul Uloom on Sunday.

Qureshi also urged the Arab countries to rise above their differences and stand united against Israel onslaught. "They should strive towards increasing influence of US and Israel's occupation of Palestine lands besides liberating Masjid-e- Aqsa in Jerusalem," said Qureshi. He stated that presently Israel's intelligence agency Mosaad is working along with its Indian counterpart with access to bordering areas. He said that the close co-operation with Israel being done at the behest of USA should be stopped.

The board also announced to wage battle for redrafting the proposed Communal Violence Bill. "We will take the matter to roads, a meeting of our like minded groups will be soon held in Delhi to discuss the strategy," he said. MPs Mohd Adeeb and Shafeequr Rehman Barq have been assigned the task to garner support against the proposed bill. "The government should include our suggestions of fixing accountability of police and executive, proper relief and rehabilitation measures besides booking the perpetrators fo crime or withdraw the bill," said Qureshi.

The board also decried the branding of Muslims as terrorists by fake encounters and throwing them behind bars. "Only Muslims are at the receiving end and this is degrading their morale which is not good for the country," he said. Member, Zafaryab Jilani presented his report regarding the Babri Masjid case in the meeting and the board reteirated its demand for including the names of indicted persons as per Liberhan Commission report.

For the social reforms of muslims the board urged them to shun expensive marriages, abolish dowry and follow Darul Qaza thus reducing the unnecessary talaq issues among the community.

Board's stand :
1. Over Israel- India should end hobnobbing with the country and stand with Palestine. It should adopt the Nehru's pro-Palestine policy.
2. Communal Violence Bill- Redraft it by fixing accountability of police and executive, proper relief and rehabilitation measures besides booking the perpetrators for crime or withdraw the bill.
3. Terrorism-Put an end to Muslims youths being targeted in fake encounters while innocents are languishing in prison.
4. Arab countries-Stand united against Israel and USA. Strive for liberating Masjid-e-Aqsa and Palestine.
5. Babri Masjid-Include the names of those indicted by Liberhan Commission. Speed up the court process.
6.Indian Muslims-Stop inexpensive marriages, Dowry, unnecessary talaq. Follow Darul-Qaza and Shariah.
7. No comments-Women's Reservation Bill and Triple Talaq.

Sacred cows and commonwealth games

By NM Sampathkumar Iyangar for TwoCircles.net,

Leader of opposition in Delhi Assembly BJP 's VK Malhotra and Congress Chief Minister Sheila Dik**** have demonstrated the real colours of the rulers of the ‘modern and democratic’ country. The leaders, irrespective of the political affiliation, happen to be worshipping sacred cows to remain sacred!

Malhotra created a ruckus over the plans to serve quality beef that will be imported to athletes and officials during the ensuing Commonwealth Games. He strongly objected to a statement by Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta to this effect. Dixit obfuscated the issue raised by her ‘communal’ rival only to prove her own prejudice.

Sheila Dixit said, “The MCD is supposed to give permission to the caterer and the Organizing Committee will select the caterer.” At this, Malhotra thundered, “How could the Chief Minister shy away from enforcement of the legislation passed unanimously by the Assembly?” He pointed out that legislation was passed in 1994 under which storage and sale of beef is prohibited in the national capital.

It is interesting to note that Mehta, Dixit and Malhotra all happen to be high-bred pundits, committed more to the welfare of the ‘sacred’ animal than to downtrodden human beings! They are blind to the fact that ridiculous laws on cow slaughter must be scrapped if India wants to join the league of nations hosting prestigious events.

Interestingly, the drama in the Delhi Assembly comes close on the heels of reintroduction of the controversial Karnataka Cow Slaughter Prevention Bill 2010 by the Karnataka government in the assembly. The move to add sting to Animal Sacrifice Prevention Bill 1964 makes transportation and slaughter of cows (cows, calves, he and she buffalo and bull) a cognizable offence and stipulates stringent punishment to offenders.

The move had been dropped only a week earlier in the face of vehement protest from the public – particularly Christians, Muslims, and Dalits. Some students in Bangalore University cooked beef on the campus to register their protest against the proposed legislation.

Home minister VS Acharya of the BJP government gave no reasons for the flip flop. Congress legislators stealthily abetted the BJP government by letting it pass the resolution by voice vote.

These laws exist in most States to implement bone-brained provisions in the anti-people constitution. The so called founding fathers of the statute hailed from self-appointed high-caste pundits of the medieval society. It reflects their social customs and rabid fads and decrees that some 5 billion people in the world who eat beef to be cannibals!

The statute authorizes the State to rob individuals of the 'democratic nation' of their personal liberty in choice of food/drink. Nine other states have completely banned cow slaughter. The attitude of these governments motivates hooligans to stop in National Highways even refrigerated trucks that carry meat for export. Opening the consignment in the guise of checking by the authorities whether it is beef or meat would render it unfit for export. The truckers shell out huge ransoms to ruffians to avoid the loss.

Moreover, the worthies are being cruel to the poor cow that they worship. It is worth noting that according to official estimates, 30,000 abattoirs operate illegally in the country against 3600 licensed ones. Actual figure would be much more and they fatten the purse of unscrupulous authorities supposed to implement the ban. Due to their existence, transportation of cows for slaughter cannot just be wished away. If transportation itself is supposed to break the law, necessitating bribes to minions of the State, no wonder the transporter cuts corners that inflict cruelty to the cargo.

Apart from the poor animals, victims of the ludicrous law are the poor farmer who is prevented from disposing off unproductive cattle and obtaining a fair price. Most of them are condemned as Sudras and are made to pay to stoke the well-to-do pundits' moral fancy. Of course, nobody objects the pundits from revering the cow. But, when they enact laws to ban consumption of beef, meat, pork, fish or eggs, they will only invite rejection by people and ridicule from the world.

A detailed look at the constitutional provision shows on cow slaughter would reveal another area in which a microscopic minority succeeded in its conspiracy to suppress the masses. The ban on cow slaughter is an affront particularly to Muslims whose religious rituals call for slaughter of animals on specific occasions. More importantly, it is of note that most of the leather processing units of India are operated by Muslims and the law is a handle to harass them with charges of violating its provisions. Persistent harassment has ruined the economic prosperity of the industry.

Tragically, the leadership of the community is too jittery to raise its voice against the farce. It is time to mount an effective struggle to dump these laws that infringe on personal liberty.
