GUWAHATI, March 10 – The stage is set for a major political confrontation between the ruling Congress and the Opposition Hindu Fanatics Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with the latter putting the final touches to make its Dispur Gherao agitation tomorrow a success despite the alleged all out efforts by the ruling party to thwart it. Former BJP national president Venkaiah Naidu, Rajya Sabha MP SS Ahluwalia and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president Dharmendra Pradhan, MP, are flying down from Delhi to join the gherao agitation around the Dispur capital complex scheduled to start from 9 am. The State BJP leaders have claimed that they would bring in a lakh party workers and supporters.

Addressing a press conference on the eve of the agitation today, BJP State president Indramoni Bora said that the BJP would make its “chargesheet”, against Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s all-round failures, public tomorrow after the gherao programme. The Dispur Gherao agitation will last till 11.30 am, he said.

Leader of the BJP Legislature Party and chairman of the chargesheet drafting committee Bimalangshu Roy said during the press conference that his party men would not be cowed down by the high-handed tactics of the Government.
