Earthquake damages property in northeastern India

Guwahati : An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale shook India's northeast Tuesday, damaging property in some parts, including in Assam's main city Guwahati.

The tremor shook the region at 2.30 p.m. with the epicentre plotted near the India-Myanmar border, according to the US Geological Survey.

Cracks have developed in some buildings in Guwahati. In some flats, toilets and wash basins have broken into pieces.

Britain’s High Class Flocking to Islam

Authentic research has shown that over 14,000 Brits have converted to Islam after having lost hope in the style of life the West is offering.

“Amongst the converts there exist many famous personalities which is a great booster for the Muslims who have become a prey to accusations of terrorism and are living in fear” in the words of Muslim leaders.

The Muslim Council has appointed the former health minister’s son Ahmed Dobson as chairman of their new committee which is striving to explain the reality of Islam to the whites living in the United Kingdom.

Yahya Britt (Jonathan Britt) the former BBC director has researched thoroughly the data of Christians converting to Islam and concluded that the total number of new Muslims in Britain was 14200. In his statement of conversion to Islam last week, Britt stressed the point that Britain also needed a leader to bring whites more easily into Islam, just as Malcolm X had done for the blacks of America and to make Islam a more national religion rather than the strange one it is at present. Furthermore, he explained how Islam’s balanced system, strong beliefs and spirituality gave him that hearts contentment.

Herbet Scott’s great grand daughter, Emma Clark has also accepted Islam as a way of life, a former designer for the gardens of the Prince of Wales is now involved in designing a mosque’s garden. She stated to the press a few days ago that “I accepted Islam after detesting the doubt standards of Western values and to lee from the filth that surrounds it. Her great grandfather who was the prime minister of Britain in 1908-1916 led his people to the lines of victory in the First World War.

Most new converts have been greatly influenced by Charles Eaton’s book, Islam and the Destiny of Man. He states that I’ve receives thousands of letters informing me that we have lost hope in today’s Christianity which is following the whims and desires of people and are searching for such a religion which does not have this.

The earl of Yarbrough who is the owner of over 28,000 acres of land in Lincolnshire told the press, “I have changed my name to Abdul Mateen and would only like to say that “Study Islam and you shall see its beauty.”

Her Majesty has given full permission for Muslim staff working in Buckingham Palace to take time off to perform their Friday prayers.

The above were examples of people who were directly connected to the kingdom, whose grandparents were the bearers of knighthoods and lordships, who used to sit in the houses of Parliament, wealthy people, from a nation who has never been ruled. But what happened to these people’s progeny? There was no slavery or force on them to make them accept Islam; “it was solely the unexplainable hearts contentment we found which compelled us.”

After all this I see not the reasons of my shyness, my regret, my inferiority complex that is stopping me from even performing my Jumu’ah Salaat amidst my colleagues at work only because of the fear of what will people say and that my business may lose important profits, yet the kingdom headquarters, Buckingham Palace, has such facilities.”

US Debates Anti-terror Cyber Battle

CAIRO — Some American experts believe their government should hunt and shut down websites seen as radicalizing Muslims, while others dismiss the approach as impractical and urge counter online campaigns.

"[Al-Qaeda doesn't] put people on planes anymore because they know we're good at spotting them," John Arquilla, a military theorist at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California, told Time magazine on Wednesday, December 23.

"And if we take away cyberspace we would achieve a crippling effect on the global terror network."

Some believe the US administration has done very little to fight the anti-terror battle in the cyberspace.

"Instead of thinking of cyberspace principally as a place to gather intelligence, we need to elevate it to the status of ‘battlespace'," Arquilla told the House Armed Services Committee last week during a hearing on the threat of online radicalization.

"This means that we either want to exploit terrorists' use of the Web and Net unbeknownst to them, or we want to drive them from it."

Many experts recognize that Al-Qaeda has become tech- and media-savvy in recent years.

Dozens of audio and video message produced by its media arm, as-Sahab, are immediately available on the internet.

Futile

But some experts are skeptical about the success prospects of declaring war at such websites, also citing their importance as source for intelligence gathering.

"If you shut down one of their websites today, they have a complete copy elsewhere and can put it up on a new server and have it up tomorrow," says Evan Kohlmann of the NEFA Foundation, created following 9/11 to track terrorism.

He believes such websites are a treasure of information overlooked by the US and are the only window the rest of the world has into al-Qaeda and other such groups.

"[This] would be like firing cruise missiles at our own spy satellites.

"If you start shutting down the websites it's like chopping up a jellyfish — you end up with lots of little pieces that are very difficult to monitor."

Scholars like Chris Boucek, of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, believe shutting down websites is not the answer.

"We're talking about a movement that's based on ideas and grievances, so we need to understand those ideas and grievances," Boucek says.

"Failing to engage in debate on those issues means we're ceding all of that to them, and that makes no sense to me."

Boucek lauded a Saudi campaign, Sakina, which helps scholars to go online to militant websites and debate what is and isn't permitted by Islam.

"There's a multiplying effect when they put this on their website for other people to read.

"Also on their website are different documents and studies, recantation videos, things like that that explain extremism and radicalization."

Boucek believes Washington should launch a similar program to be handled by academics rather than by government officials.

"You can't have the American military telling people what their religion allows.

"It's shocking to me that eight years into this conflict, we don't have a formal institution doing this."

Need to launch public movement in India to support Palestine: Speakers

New Delhi: As India has emerged a strong global economy there is a need to launch a massive movement in the country supporting the Palestinian cause to force the government to review its policy towards Israel. India’s strong support for Palestine at this moment will have impacts on Israel and global politics surrounding the Palestinian issue, said political and religious leaders yesterday in New Delhi.

They were speaking at a daylong national conference on “Solidarity with Freedom Movement of Palestine” organized by Muslim Political Council of India in cooperation with Palestine Solidarity Movement, a newly formed group in Delhi.

Member of Parliament Nilotpal Basu of CPM alleged that India was indirectly supporting the Israeli atrocities on Palestinians by strengthening its economy through weapons purchase.

“India is buying weapons from Israel at large scale and thus supporting its economy. So the Israeli attacks on innocent Palestinians are indirectly supported by India,” Basu said. He stressed on the need for a joint campaign from all communities irrespective of religion to support Palestinian statehood. “India is a strong emerging economy, so a massive movement here to support Palestinian movement will have impact on Israel and global politics,” he said.

Rafeeque Ahmed, Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, termed the Palestinian issue a human rights issue and sought support from all communities.

“Palestinian issue is a human rights issue, so we all should support it. Israel has occupied Palestinian land by carrying out genocide,” Ahmed said and tagged the peace of world with solution of this issue. “No peace is possible in the world without solving the issue of Palestine.”

“India has always supported Palestinian movement but since 1992 India’s foreign policy regarding Israel has changed,” he added while urging for a mass movement on the issue. “Such occasional programs will not help, there is a need to launch a public movement to support Palestine.”

Dr Tasleem Rahmani, president, Muslim Political Council of India, expressed hope that apparently Palestinians seem to be losing but at the end of the day their movement will succeed.

“It is no war when tanks are confronted with boys with stones in Palestinian streets and it seems Palestine will disappear from the map of the world, but given the determination of new Palestinian generation to free their motherland, it is certain the Palestinian movement will succeed,” he said and condemned the Indian policy vis-à-vis Israel.

“India has always supported nonviolence but surprisingly today it is silent on Israeli atrocities in Israel.”

Dr SQR Ilyas, Executive Committee Member, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, also expressed his concern on growing India-Israel strategic relations.

“India-Israel strategic relations now going beyond mere military relations will put in danger the security of India itself. The development will make India a colony of the US and Israel,” Dr Ilyas said and expressed concern over the fact that our country sends IPS officers to Israel for training.

Deepankar Bhattacharya, General Secretary, CPI-ML, expressed solidarity with the Palestinian movement and termed Israeli occupation on Israel as the greatest injustice on earth in 20th century.

“Occupation of Palestinian land by Israel is the greatest injustice of 20th century,” Bhattacharya said adding that there is a need to change foreign policy of India to keep it free. He also expressed concern on efforts to present Muslims in India as villain and to demonize the whole community.

Mulayam Singh Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief and former defence minister, criticized the Union Government for not having clear foreign policies.

“For a long time, India has lost vision as it has no clear stand on foreign issues. In fact India has no friend in the world today,” Singh said addressing the gathering as chief guest.

“Jawahar Lal Nehru had said India will never be silent on human rights violations but the Congress party of Nehru has forgot his policy,” Singh said adding that his party supports the Palestinian cause.

The co-organizer of the conference Palestine Solidarity Movement has given a call to boycott about 90 products/services of companies which are directly or indirectly attached with Israel. The products include cold drinks like Pepsi, Coca Cola, Fanta and Sprite, IT companies like Intel, IBM, Microsoft and Nokia and soaps like Dove, Lux, Pond’s and Rexona.

Manipur Muslim separatist leader arrested in Guwahati

Guwahati : A top separatist leader of Manipur was arrested by security forces in Assam's main city of Guwahati Thursday while on a specific mission to recruit cadres to carry out operations, officials said.

A police spokesperson said the arrested rebel leader Mohammed Raihanuddin is the self-styled commander-in-chief of the outlawed People's United Liberation Front (PULF), a Muslim-based rebel outfit active in Manipur.

"Based on specific intelligence that the PULF leader was in the city and would be visiting a certain locality to meet some people, security forces stepped up a search operation and managed to capture him unchallenged from Guwahati's Athgaon area," a police official said.

Police recovered two hand grenades from a bag carried by the PULF leader, besides several documents, including extortion demands.

"The PULF leader was in the city for some time with a specific mission to recruit some people in Guwahati to look after their operations, mainly to carry out extortions from people here who have business interests in Manipur," the official said.

Two more people were also picked up along with Raihanuddin.

"We have not arrested the other two people, but are questioning them about any direct role they might have with the PULF leader," the official said.

Police said the arrested leader belongs to PULF's Azad faction with the outfit split into groups, although their objectives are the same - seeking to safeguard the interests of the minority Muslim community in Manipur and carving out an Islamic country in the northeast through an armed struggle in collaboration with other Islamist fundamentalist groups.

Extortion targeting the civilian population and traders in its areas of operation constitutes the major source of funding for the PULF.

Why Central Madrasa Board should be opposed by Muslims

The discussion on proposed Central Madrasa Board 2008 is going on in Muslim community. Urdu newspapers and some online English journals are giving its full attention by publishing articles, recommendations of Ulems, and blights of this board against independent Madrasas in India.

One million question that, why government is keen interest in interfering in Independent Madrasas, while a network of Madrasas are playing its role very smoothly in spreading the initial education and awareness to Muslim community. Is this one not a good step that a Minority community, instead to make noise and to wait reservation from government, is teaching its communities without government’s help?

Are Ulemas and Muslim’s efforts in providing a platform of education to their community by establishing their own schools and without the fund of government shouldn’t be exhilarated? Is this not strength hands of government in the fields of education?

Actually, During NDA government a committee headed by L.K. Advani, prepared a report, in which said that Madrasas are the nursery of terrorism and are a threat of internal security of the country. On the base of this report, Mr. Murly Manohar Joshi (an accused in demolition of Babri Masjid) appointed to prepare a plan under the label of Modernisation of Madrasas to check its movements and to change its syllabus according government’s needs. Defeating of NDA in Parliamentary election destroyed the dream of Hindutva ideology who was looking a golden opportunity to wipe out the Madrasas which always been an eye-sore for the forces who want to capture on India under Hindutva slogan.

It was hoped that UPA government will not touch this issue, but in the garb of secularism, Mr. Arjun Singh raised this issue again and open a way of anger in Muslim community. Now, Mr. Kapil Sibbal is trying to make a balance concerning on this Central Madrasa Board.

For this purpose a meeting called on 03-October 09 by Mr. Kapil Sibbal to discuss and to collect Muslim’s opinion on this Board. No doubt that, Muslim MPS, Ulemas and Muslim scholars, unanimously rejected UPA government’s proposal. Adverse objections and heat of angers of Muslims in this meeting, forced Mr. Sibbal to announce that Muslim community will be taken into full confidence before tabling this bill into parliament.

First, I discuss on some but most important articles of this proposed Central Madrasa Board, which after years would change the map of all Independent Madrasas in India.

1. This board will trigger the differences among various Muslim sects and religious schools in Muslim community. Deobandi, Barelvi, Ahl-i-Hadith, Shafai, Shia, Dawoodi Bohra all are given a seat. One scholar from traditional Madrasa system will be appointed as well. Is only one scholar of each sect is enough to check Madrasas syllabus, grants, administrations and quality of education? For example, in India majority of people are the followers of Deobandi sects. Is only one Deobandi scholar who will be the member of board and an employ of government will solve all issues related to Deobandi sects across India. Education systems in Deoband or in Darululoom Nadwatul Ulema or in other Madrasas are very different. How this board will maintain the balance between all religious schools and on subjects as well.

2. According proposed Madrasas Central Madrasa Board 08 syllabus and other text books will be revised after the recommendations of a syllabus committee appointed by Madrasa Board. Is here any guaranty could be given that Madrasas main syllabus after the recommendations of syllabus committee would not be touched and its theological status would be remained work under proposed Madrasa Board till long times.

3. In areas of work, these beautiful words are written in Proposed Central Madrasa Board draft. “Conceptualize and initiate programme for the consolidation of the inclusive society, marked by religious and cultural diversity, through proper interfaith understanding in society”. Will Mr. Sibbal himself explain that how it would be possible in multi-religious and in multi-cultural society and how it will be placed in the country by the Madrasas are running under government while the situation of Bihar, Bengal and UP Madrasa board is before us, where teachers are always found on strike to get their due salaries, on the other hand, students come only to get certificates for applying jobs.

4. According this bill, if any dispute be found between Central government and Madrasa board, Central government’s final decision will be acceptable to all. With existing of such sections and even when central government is being run by other party such as BJP, will this board remained to work according its direction? How Madrasa Board will keep itself away from the interference of governments in its syllabus or in administration or in the content of Madrasas in future?

These are some articles of Central Madrasa Board bill are acknowledged above just for an example. The content of these articles shows that in future Madrasa board administration and its syllabus gradually will turn into government’s hand, where it will do what it will want, and in finally Independent Madrasas will lose its religious identity. By this conspiracy and in the name of modernization of Madrasas Muslims will be deprived from their religious and historical education as they driven out from Modern education, politics and from the field of developments in modern India, although they governed on India for decades and fought against British to get back their country.

Recently, a group of Muslim scholars met Mr. Sibbal assuring their support in making Central Madrasa Board. I have one question to all Muslims who support Central government’s move on Madarsa Board that why we not express our disquiets on Madrasa Board while our modern Universities such as Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia are crying on its situation. If these universities get full support of government and get back their minority status, Muslim students will never be behind than any others in the fields of education. In today’s India, a plenty of small schools are being run under Muslim’s supervision and these are in need of computers and modern technologies, why government is not making any plan to help such schools.

Diversity of nations, distinctions of various kinds of languages and costumes of society enlighten this glob, where rich and poor, middle and corporate class, religious and political groups, doctors and engineers, historians and film makers, educated and illiterates, thieves and dacoits, winners and looser, police and ordinary men, dancers and magicians, Ulemas and Pundits, politicians and law makers strengthen it and bring their efforts to live a better life. Declaring them the production of only one institution would be a proof of mentally illness.

Those who have a bit of understanding capability will never allow to anybody to go Medical universities to get technical education. Why Mr. Kapil Sibbal is not trying to understand this simple logic? Why he doesn’t want to know that Madrasas are religious institutions alike other Medical and Law Universities? Madrsas is part and parcel of Muslim society which can’t survive without it.

There are objectives and aims before Madarsas also, its syllabus is being prepared according its objectives, Committee comprising on great Islamic scholars and Ulemas check the syllabus time to time. Qura’an, Hadieth, History, Tajweed (correct pronunciation of Qura’anic verses), Tafseer (interpretation of holy scriptures), Fiqah (Islamic Jurisprudence), Shariah (Islamic law), Ahadeath (life and decisions of the holy Prophet on various issues brought before him by the faithful), Riazi (mathematics) are the subjects being taught in these Madrsas.

In all modern institutions above subjects are not being taught, if these subjects will be prohibited in Madrasas, as government is planning so where Muslims get the education which tell them that how they can live honestly.

Muslims want that government first solve all other issues have become an obstacle in the way of their development, solve the minority status of Aligarh Muslim University, and Jamia Millia Islamia, implement 10% reservation to Muslims as Justice Ranga Nath Mishra commission has recommended, open schools in Muslim localities and order government machineries to give the attention on Muslim’s areas also in providing electricity, hospitals and roads.

After all, despite getting some support from Muslim scholars, Mr. Sibbal still in quest of successes and the sword of Central Madrasa Board is still hanging on Independent Madrasas.

This is the responsibility of all Muslims, MPS to oppose this bill whether they belong from any schools to save their own independent Madarsas with advising central government to look on other aspects if it insists on upgrading education systems of Muslim community.

Chidambaram’s Miracle Of 72 Hours

It has been in practice of the human beings that when a baby cries, the mothers’ heart beats faster, she gets worried and put her all efforts to comfort the baby. But have you ever read any fiction, heard the story from your grandparents or seen a mother feeding her baby, getting toys and buying clothes for her/him only when (s)he stops crying? If not, at least, you can get the holy ideas of parenting from our corporate Home Minister P Chidambaram, who keeps telling to the Adivasis these days that the government (parents) will do everything for them (kids) only when they stop resistance. He has taken for guaranteed that all the Adivasis living in the forests are Maoists or at least their supporters therefore he tells them, “Abjure violence and give me 72 hours” to do the miracle for readdressing the historic socio-economic, cultural and developmental injustices done to them for the centuries.

It amazes me that how the holy idea of miracle of 72 hours impressed Chidambaram and made him so passionate about it? As far as the ‘miracle of 72 hours’ is concerned, it has ensured the pain, suffering and endless sorrow for millions of Indians. The Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Mode created a hell for the Muslims in those 72 hours, where more than 2000 Muslims were killed, thousands were attacked and many of them lost their shelters. Similarly, the terrorist attacks of 26/11 shook the Mumbai for 72-odd hours, created fear, insecurity and uncertainty in the lives of the millions of people across the country. However, P Chidambaram does not bother about whatever happened in the past and he just wants to create heaven for the Adivasis within 72 hours if he is given by the Maoists (he ratified that Maoist have come Messiah for the Adivasis).

Frankly speaking, the Chidambaram’s miracle of 72 hours does not convince me, precisely, because he is playing a mighty double standards game. Suddenly, he took U turn on the issue of Operation Green Hunt (OGH), when there was immense pressure for withdrawal of the OGH, from the civil society organizations like the Citizens Initiative for Peace (CIP). On November 7, 2009, Chidambaram denied and even blamed to the media by saying, "There is no operation Green Hunt. It is a figment of imagination and creation of the media.” “Show me one government official saying this and I will take action", he dared. Ironically, on December 4, 2009, Dantewada-based DIG anti-Naxal operations SRP Killuri unmasked Chidambaram by telling to the media, “As of today, Operation Green Hunt is underway in districts like Bijapur and Dantewada.” Unfortunately, Chidambaram neither took any action against his officer (as per his earlier promise) nor stopped to the media for misusing (according to him) the right to freedom of expression.

Secondly, how can one believe in the miracle of 72 hours when the victims of Bhopal Gas tragedy did not get justice even after 25 long years despite thousands of deaths (according to the government 3500 deaths and non-government sources confirm 20000 to 25000 deaths) and millions of sufferers, not a single person was punished? Similarly, the victims of anti-Sikh riots 1984 are still waiting for justice and protest in the streets of Delhi all most every year. And 30 millions displaced masses of India including150000 displaced of Hirakud Dam (1948) the Nehru’s Temple (Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first prime minister, once said, dams are the “temple[s] of modern India.”) yet to be rehabilitated (though the Indian government does not care about them).

Thirdly, the government authorities are blaming to the Maoists for everything. For instance, there are several state governments failed in ensuring the forest rights to the Adivasis according to the Forest Rights Act 2006, now blame to the Maoists for their failure. Similarly, in the failure of so-called development projects and justice delivery only the Maoists are alleged. Do the Maoists not allow the government to give land pattas (entitlement papers) to the Adivasis? Do we say that every Adivasis would have been prosperous if the Maoists would not have born in India? Can Chidambaram tell us why the corporate houses comfortably run their factories in those areas where the police can not even walk? Can he explain us why the roads of the state capitals and districts headquarters of many states are extremely bad despite huge expenditure made on these? Do the Maoists not let the government to build good road in the capital cities? Can he tell us why the benefits of the welfare schemes meant for the poor do not reach them? Of course, no one can deny the Maoist menace but can we blame them for everything?

The fact of the matter is the state has completely failed in upholding the constitution and fears of backlash therefore the operation green hunt has been launched in Chhatisgarh and will be extended to the state of Jharkhand once the Assembly election is over, which is quite evident from the statements of Chidambaram given in the Parliament on December 3. He said, “Attempt was to restore civil administration and the follow it up quickly with development. The security forces being used only to reassert authority in areas where it lost control.” The statements clearly indicate about the security forces being used to regain the control in the Adivasis regions though he may not use the phrase ‘operation green hunt’, which would be materialized in the large scale from January onward, surely result as the mass torture, assault and killing of thousands of the Adivasis in the name of the Maoists, which needs to be strongly opposed by the people of the civil society who believe in the Human Rights of each and every one.

Obviously, Chidambaram’s miracle of 72 hours is not really miracle to redress the grievances of the Adivasis but it is a strategy to get the sympathy of the civil society for the operation green hunt. He is essentially batting for the corporate with the intention to get the Adivasis’ land clear and hand it over to the corporate houses. He would also ensure the landing of the global investors, which would lead the India’s economy from 7 to 9 percent; of course, that makes no sense to the Adivasis. The Chidambaram’s miracle of 72 hours can only create hell for the Adivasis not the heaven indeed. “If you are to suffer, you should suffer in the interest of the country,” this is what Jawaharlal Nehru, the architect of the modern India told to the Adivasis (victims) of the Hirakud Dam (Orissa) in 1948, which clearly means the Adivasis must have to suffer in their own country and the sunglasses (mostly invaders) are only born to enjoy their lives. Perhaps, Chidambaram’s miracle of 72 hours is to make sure the suffering of the Adivaisis continues.

Anti-Semitism up, Islamophobia down

According to new research conducted by Bielefeld University hatred towards Muslims decreased over the past year while hatred of Jews is growing. Israelis must be concerned. The sudden drop in European Islamophobia doesn't fit into the Zionist global plan in which Muslims are cornered and ostracised as reactionaries while Israel is dropping bombs in the name of democracy and liberalism. According to the leading Israeli paper Ynet, "the level of resentment against most minorities declined – sexism considerably, Islamophobia slightly. There were only two exceptions: homophobia and anti-Semitism."(1)


Interestingly enough Ynet reports that "the percentage of people who believe 'that there are too many Muslims' in their country is especially high in those countries that actually have a low percentage of Muslims living in them." One possible explanation may that within European countries benefiting from a large Muslim population, the fear of Islam is actually dissipating. This is not at all surprising given the fact that both Islamic and Christian cultures share very similar universal values and ethical precepts. Unlike Jewish ideology that maintains a certain level of tribal, cultural and social segregation and supremacy, Muslim communities seem to collectively merge into the working classes through the work place, education and economy.



According to the research very many Europeans are concerned with Jewish domination and power. "One-quarter of Europeans (24.5%) believe that "Jews have too much influence", and nearly one-third (31%) agree that "Jews in general do not care about anything or anyone but their own kind." Bearing in mind the embarrassing fact that 50% of MPs in Britain's shadow cabinet are Conservative Friends of Israel we can safely assume that, unlike our politicians, the voters out there are largely waking up to the danger of Zionist infiltration.


Ynet also has some 'good news' to report. "61.9% say that Jews "enrich our culture", especially in the Netherlands, Britain and Germany." The fact that Jews and ex Jews (in particular) enrich European life is indeed hard to ignore, yet setting aside Lord Cashpoint Levy and Uri 'Spoon Bending' Geller, it seems as if, amongst those Jews who contribute to European cultural life, not many openly identify with Israel and its crimes.


As much as Israel uses every possible means to drag us all into an endless war against Islam, the Europeans are coming to terms with the devastating reality of Zionist murderous brutality. Some 45.7% of the Europeans either "somewhat or strongly" agree that "Israel is conducting a war of extermination against the Palestinians." In case someone fails to understand the meaning of it all, I will say it plainly: almost half of the Europeans accept that Israel employs genocidal tactics. They basically agree that Israelis are the Nazis of our time. According to Ynet, about 37.4% agree with the following statement: "Considering Israel's policy, I can understand why people do not like Jews."


Zionism was there to create a civilized loveable Jew. Not only has it failed, thanks to Israel and Zionism, the resentment towards Jews seem to be greater than ever. The meaning of it all is rather obvious. Israel and its supporting lobbies failed to internalise the real universal meaning of the Holocaust: 'love thy neighbour'. Instead of ethnic cleansing, starving and dropping white phosphorous, Israel should have learned to live amongst others.


If Europe is as democratic as it claims to be, this clear, escalating animosity towards Israel, Zionism and their relentless lobbies will mature eventually into a political shift.

The hypocrisy of Al-demoqratia

So this is how democracy works?


In 2004, France banned headscarves and school principals chased after young "defiant" Muslim girls who continued to cover their heads in school. Now, following a national referendum, Switzerland has banned the construction of minarets, because minarets also somehow symbolize oppression. Thanks to the dedicated action of the far-right Swiss People's Party, the Alpine skies will be free from the snaking menace, which would spread intolerance and taint the splendor of Swiss architecture.


In between these two peculiar events, the targeting of Muslims in Western countries and the subjugation of entire Muslim nations all over the world has never ceased. Not for a day.


Moreover, the collective targeting of small or large Muslim communities in Western countries, and the deliberate abuse and degradation of Muslim individuals and Islamic symbols (from the Holy Koran to the Prophet Mohammed) has also never ceased.


Bizarrely, most of these actions have been done through "democratic" channels and justified in the name of democracy, on the basis of upholding the principles of secularism and Western values.


Many thoughts come to mind here; all unreservedly angry.


I remember when the word "democracy" used to resonate so loudly among Arabs and Muslims around the world. The more they were denied it, the more they yearned for it. University campuses in Cairo, Gaza and Karachi took their student union elections so very seriously. Innocent blood was spilled in clashes around campuses as students desperately tried to express their right to vote, to speak out and to assemble.


Those were the days, when al-demoqratia, Arabic for democracy, was the buzzword in the Middle East and beyond. Even Palestinian political prisoners held their elections, ever so faithfully, surrounded by highly fortified towers and under the deriding gaze of armed men in the unforgiving heat of the Naqab desert.


Arab and Muslim masses were keen on democracy to the extent that there was a near consensus that democracy, although a Western conception, could be distinguished from the many ills invited by Western interventions, imperialism and wars that scarred and continued to impair the collective Muslim psyche.


An entire school of Muslim thought was in fact established around the concept that democracy and Islam are very much compatible. Such a notion goes back to Egypt's Azharite scholar Rifa'a al-Tahtawi, who argued in the first half of the 19th century that the principles of European modernity were compatible with Islam.


"Al-Tahtawi's work influenced the philosopher Muhammad Abduh [1849-1905], another Azharite who is often described as the founder of Islamic modernism, which is captured in his statement that in Europe he found Islam without Muslims, while in Egypt he found Muslims without Islam," wrote German anthropologist, Frank Fanselow.


If one sets his prejudices aside to ponder this for a moment, one would realize the intellectual valor it takes to consider and even embrace commonalities with the very powers that have instilled so much harm and fear.


Even in their darkest, least proud moments, Muslim intellectuals and nations displayed impressive open-mindedness. They are hardly ever credited for that.


More recently, in Egypt, people tried hard to vote, in the face of beatings, public humiliation and imprisonment. In Palestine in 2006 the price was even higher - starvation. Gaza continues to endure under a medieval Israeli siege, ultimately because of an election.


Muslim communities in the West have long been considered the luckiest; after all, they live in the abodes of democracy. They drink from the fountain of rights and freedoms that never runs dry.


However, these idealized assumptions missed the fact that Western democracy was conditional. And unconditional democracy can only be a farce.


Much has been said to explain the West's faltering on its own commitment to democracy. No, the tragedy of September 11, 2001, is hardly the defining moment that created the growing chasm that made the West fearful of Islam. Despite all that has taken place since then - the constant spewing out of right-wing hatred, evangelical fanatic preaching and all the rest - America is still more tolerant than Europe. Nor was the growing anti-Muslim sentiment in Europe a response in solidarity to America's woes.


Honestly, the French are not fond of Americans, nor are the Germans necessarily that passionate about the Swiss. But this didn't stop a German Christian Democratic state interior minister, Volker Bouffier, from making a "recommendation" to Muslim communities in his own country: "Naturally the Muslims in Germany have a right to build mosques. But they should make sure not to overwhelm the German population with them."


How do you overwhelm people with minarets? Is this a post-post-post-modernistic logic that we are yet to be informed of?


There are only four minarets in the entire country of Switzerland, a country with a population of approximately 7.6 million people. How overwhelming can that be? And aren't religious freedom and the freedom of collective and individual expression basic rights guaranteed by democratic values?


But this is hardly about a 4.8-meter tall minaret in the northern Swiss town of Langenthal. It's about the fact that the one who suggested the structure is a Muslim furniture salesman by the name of Mutalip Karaademi. He didn't know, of course, that his modest idea of adding a minaret to the community's mosque would generate a nationwide referendum, and an international "controversy".


Karaademi was not trying to "Islamificate" the Swiss. He just wanted his community to have a place for worship (as opposed to the unused paint factory it currently uses for prayer), to be able to express its collective identity without fear. Ironically enough, the Muslim community in Langenthal is mostly Albanians, refugees who fled Kosovo seeking escape and deliverance.


What a strange paradox: Muslims escaping to the West, physically and figuratively, only to find double standards, self-negation and, at times, pure hypocrisy.


For now, however, a new consensus is forming: democracy can be invoked and used against Muslims only, and not for Muslims. It can be manipulated to deny them their identity in Europe and their freedom in Palestine, to ensure their subjugation in Iraq and in Afghanistan, and to meddle in their internal affairs everywhere else.


Al-demoqratia, indeed.

Zionist control of Britain’s government: 1940-2009

“After so many years of setting the tone, bribing UK politicians and controlling the BBC they (Zionists) are used to being untouchable.” - (Gilad Atzmon, “Britain Must de-Zionist Itself Immediately,” Nov. 17, 2009, MWC News).


This week the British people listened to the Daily Mall’s Peter Oborne present, on Channel 4, his devastating account of the Jewish lobby’s control of their government. Now we know that virtually all the principal politicians in the UK of both parties, like their brothers across the lake in our House and Senate, take “contributions” from the Israeli lobby machine ensuring that the Anglo-American mid-east policies follow the dictates of the Israeli government. Gilad Atzmon responded to this report in his article “Britain must de-Zionise itself immediately,” noting that this control has been in place for so many years the lobby feels “untouchable.”


How many years are “many” one might ask? In 1941, the High Commissioner of Palestine, Harold MacMichael, Senior Palestine Mandate officer for the British Mandate forces in Palestine, sent the following “Top Secret” “Memorandum on the Participation of the Jewish National Institutions in Palestine in Acts of Lawlessness and Violence” to the Secretary of State, dated October 16th, a report prepared by The Palestine Police, Criminal Investigation Department:


The memorandum illustrates—indeed, brings into full limelight—the fact that the Mandatory is faced potentially with as grave a danger in Palestine from Jewish violence as it ever faced from Arab violence, a danger infinitely less easy to meet by the methods of repression which have been employed against Arabs. In the first place, the Jews … have the moral and political support … of considerable sections of public opinion both in the United Kingdom and the United States of America … all the influence and political ability of the Zionists would be brought to bear to show that the Jews in Palestine were the victims of aggression, and that a substantial body of opinion abroad would be persuaded of the truth of the contention.


Quite obviously, MacMichael understands that the Mandatory has little power at home over the zealous actions of the Zionists as they manipulate public and political opinion even as they expand their terrorism against the British Mandate government in Palestine. This is an untenable position to be in, responsible for government control and security of those under its authority, i.e. Palestinians as well as Jews, and knowing that the Jews are set on driving the British out of Palestine, and knowing that the home government can offer little help.


The Zionists and their “gangs,” a euphemism for well equipped and well trained military forces, launched a full scale terrorist rebellion against the British by robbing banks, indiscriminate killing of British police, and the assassination of British minister-resident Lord Moyne in 1944. By the end of World War II things got even worse: “The Haganah carried out anti-British military operations—liberation of interned immigrants from the Atlit camp; the bombing of the country’s railroad network; sabotage raids on radar installations and bases of the British police mobile force; sabotage of British vessels … and the destruction of all road and railroad bridges on the borders.” All of this terrorism was conducted against the Mandate Government while the home government remained silent under the pall of Israeli Zionist propaganda (Meir Pa’il, “From Hashomer to the Israel Defense Forces: Armed Jewish Defense in Palestine,” World War II). www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/source/History/resist.htm.


But recording the acts of terrorism does not do justice to the conditions the Mandate government faced. MacMichael describes the reality of the forces aligned against the police in Palestine.


A second matter which deeply impressed me is the almost Nazi control exercised by the official Jewish organizations over the Jewish community, willy nilly, through the administration of funds from abroad, the issue of labor certificates in connection with the immigration quota, the forced contributions to funds and the power of the Histadruth. … The community is under the closed oligarchy of the Jewish official organizations which control Zionist policy and circumscribe the lives of the Jewish community in all directions…


Perhaps one of the most frightening observations MacMichael makes comes at the very end of his dispatch: “As matters now stand it seems to me inevitable that the Zionist Juggernaut which has been created with such intensity of zeal for a Jewish national state will be the cause of very serious trouble in the Near East.” Prophetic words indeed.


The memorandum provided by the Palestine Police Department includes approximately 50 0 pages of seized documents from the Jewish Agency and related organizations. These documents reveal the intention of the Zionists that controlled operations in Palestine as they worked to force into existence a Jewish State. “We regard it as our duty to caution you against any attempt to decide on an anti-Zionist solution … We regard it as a duty to utter another warning. Do not postpone the political solution for ten years … The Jews are a nation. The land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel. The Jewish State will be established. It is better that it should be established with your help and for your benefit, than against you” (The Jewish Resistance Movement, March 25th, 1946, Rhodes House Archives).


The Mandate Criminal Investigation Department was headed by Richard Catling. Catling’s memorandum begins with an understanding of the “intricate Jewish political, social and economic structure in Palestine.” A series of appendices chart these structures marking in passing that “… the Palestine Royal Commission Report of 1937 understood ‘The Agency (Jewish) is obviously not a governing body; it can only advise and cooperate in a certain wide field.’ But allied as it is with the Vaad Leumi, and commanding the allegiance of the great majority of the Jews in Palestine, it unquestionably exercises, both in Jerusalem and in London, a considerable influence on the conduct of government.” Catling’s frustration with the actual control of the Jews over British policy in Palestine glares through this document: “This powerful and efficient organization amounts in fact, to a government existing side by side with the Mandatory Government…”


The Zionist controlled Jewish Agency actively undermined the legal authority in Palestine even as it operated to undermine support for that government in Britain, placing UK forces in harms way as they attempted to fulfill their authorized responsibilities in Palestine. It also demonstrates the determination of the Agency’s leadership in undermining the very nation that gave it a means of establishing a “homeland” in Palestine through the Balfour Declaration. The wording of that declaration is rarely presented in its full form: “His Majesty’s government view with favor the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.” The declaration did not intend to establish a Jewish State. Indeed, the wording, “national home,” was used intentionally instead of “state.” Additionally, the first draft referred to the principle ‘that Palestine should be’ reconstituted ‘as the national home of the Jewish people.’ In the final text, the word ‘that’ was replaced with ‘in’ to avoid committing all of Palestine to the Jews only.


Now perhaps we can answer the question, “How many years has the British government been under the control of the Zionist influence?” Three score and ten, the biblical age. Perhaps it’s time that Britain is reborn, free from the shackles that bind it to this corrupt power that flouts international law, wantonly commits crimes against humanity, and in brazen arrogance tells the Nations United to shove its demands to comply with the civilized communities of the world.

Israel allocates millions of dollars to settlements

The Israeli cabinet has approved a proposal by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to allocate millions of dollars in extra funds to "national priority zones" in the West Bank.

The cabinet voted on Sunday to approve the proposal to include settlements in the list of communities designated as national priority zones, which entitles them to credits worth $41 million, AFP reported.

In its vote, the cabinet also decided to create a commission that will decide within 30 days on whether to include other communities inside Israel in the priority list, said a government official.

The move, which came just weeks after Israel imposed a ten-month moratorium on new buildings in the West Bank settlements, defies a call by Palestinians for a complete halt on settlements considered by the International community as illegal.

Netanyahu, however, claimed the plan to change Israel's map of national priority areas does not signify a permanent stance on the future of these areas.

"We will determine the future of settlements only within the framework of a permanent agreement [with Palestinians]," he said, according to Army Radio.

Israel has repeatedly been called to halt the construction of illegal settlements including the so-called "natural growth" in existing settlements in the West Bank.

Tel Aviv, however, claimed that it is not constructing 'new' settlements but only building new units in the existing settlements.

Turkey becomes powerful Muslim country

Bangalore: After years and years of our campaign, Turkey has finally heeded our Voice and turned to Islam — bidding goodbye to the White “Christian Club” (European Union) to which it will never get admission.

After embracing its Muslim neighbours Turkey has gained its stature not only among its co-religionists but even among the anti-Muslim Whites.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has raised the stature of Turkey which has started playing key role in the Islamic world.

His support to Iran and its right to nuclear power and giving full backing to the re-election of President Ahmedinejad will be a shock to the zionist Israel. Yet another big achievement is Turkey’s move to embrace the Kurds with whom it had years of fierce battle.

The most important is Turkey turning against the zionist Israel with which it had a long association because of Kemal Pasha, the founder of the modern Turkey who turned it against Islam and did a lot to destroy its Muslim identity.

Gogoi and AGP reject 'Bodoland'

GUWAHATI, Dec 11: The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) today raised the demand for a separate Bodoland State to be carved out of Assam in the State Assembly today following the Centre’s nod to the proposed Telangana State to be carved out of Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, however, rejected the demand outright. The stand of the State Government was also supported by the AGP.
After the Question Hour, Karendra Basumatary of the BPF raised the demand for a separate Bodoland State, and said: “If the Central Government can carve out a separate Telangana of Andhra Pradesh, what prevents it from carving out a separate Bodoland of Assam?”
Basumatary demanded of the House to send a message in favour of a separate Bodoland State to the Centre today itself. He said the BPF has no alternative but to press for a separate Bodoland State.
AGP president Chandra Mohan Patowary then said that the BPF had initiated a new chapter in Assam’s politics by raising the demand for a separate Bodoland on the floor of the House. “Since the BPF is a coalition partner of the Congress in the State Government, the Government should clarify its stand on the issue,” Patowary said.
In his reply, Gogoi said: “There have been demands for separate Kamatapur, Bodoland, Dimaraji and Karbi Anglong from the respective ethnic groups, but we want to stay together. The State Government doesn’t want further division of the State. If the ethnic groups demanding separate States have any problems, the government is ready to solve them.” The AGP supported the stand of the Chief Minister in what may be called a convergence of the ruling Congress and the principal opposition to prevent the State from being divided further.

Guwahati, Dec 11: AGP MLA Abdul Ajij, demanded a ‘‘separate Muslim land’’ in Assam in the State Assembly today. He said such ‘‘separate Muslim land’’ will cater to the needs of the ‘‘2.5 millions Muslims of the State’’.

Massive Dalit rally demands separate electorate for Dalits

New Delhi: The National Confederation of Dalit Organisations (NACDOR), which has about 1200 Dalit groups under its umbrella, has demanded the Central Government to introduce separate electorate for Dalits, Adivasis and women to ensure their real representation in Lok Sabha.

At a massive rally organized in New Delhi on December 5 NACDOR also demanded constitutional amendment “to introduce reservation in Rajya Sabha and make this mandatory to elect members of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes as per their share in population in the state.”






At the end of the daylong rally at Jantar Mantar, the group presented a charter of demands to the Prime Minister.

Some major demands in the charter include 15% and 7.5% quota for SCs and STs respectively in public sector undertakings, corporate and private sectors; establishment of monitoring and vigilance committee in each district to ensure proper implementation of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities Act 1989); publication of annual report by NHRC on violation of human rights of SCs and STs; establishment of grain banks for food security in all Dalit and adivasi villages; special housing scheme for Dalits all across the country and representation of Dalits in Radio, TV and print media through modifications in HR policies.

The NACDOR opposed restrictions on conversion and demanded religious freedom to Dalits as well as all citizens of the country. “Religious freedom is the corner stone of India’s constitution and citizens are free to choose any religion as and when they like. This fundamental right of the people must be protected and all laws made to nullify this freedom by different states must be repealed.”

Another major demand of the group is proper compensation to SCs and STs affected by climate change including changing patterns and reduction of rainfalls, floods, droughts etc.

Mashkoor Alam, a youth from a Dalit Muslim community in Bihar and attached with NACDOR for years, talks to TCN about his views on Dalit issues.

“We are here to demand rights for Dalit communities in India irrespective of their religion,” says Mashkoor at the rally.

Asked if as a member of a Dalit Muslim community he demands reservation for only Dalit Muslims or for the entire Muslim community, Mashkoor says: The Sachar Report has already pointed out that the whole Muslim community is marginalized but it is also true that a section of the community has developed themselves. So what we are demanding is that Dalit Muslims who have same profession as Dalit Hindus, should also be given the status of Scheduled Castes – the status enjoyed by Dalit, Sikh and Buddhist Dalits.

Will Government Ban RSS & VHP?

Historians will indeed take a poor view of the national leadership in the critical days of 1992: a Prime Minister who was either naïve or incompetent and least interested in performing his Constitutional and legal duties: an opposition leader, who was, to say the least, a hypocrite, who had conceptualized and mobilized the people through his Rath Yatra and incited their fanaticism and then called 6 December, the saddest day of his life: a senior colleague of his who was not only a practitioner of ambiguity but a master of double talk; a Chief Minister who swore false affidavits; a political party which planned to build its fortunes by inventing and organizing a movement to undermine the Constitution and the Rule of law: a Government whose ministers, with one honourable exception, were a pack of spineless courtiers: political parties, which called themselves secular but which remained silent spectators of the unfolding drama.

Under the Shariat, while no masjid can be constructed on usurped land, a masjid once consecrated cannot be alienated in any manner-sold or leased or gifted. Even after, the Demolition, the Babri Masjid exists. Because the masjid is the site, the land which has been consecrated for worship, and not the stones and bricks or the structure. And the site cannot be destroyed!

Indeed, the question of title to the site is under judicial examination by the Special Bench of Allahabad High Court under Supreme Court’s Order. After the verdict the road map charted by the Supreme Court comes into operation. Under it a place of worship shall be built on the disputed site by the party which has the title but the other party may also construct a place of worship nearby within the Acquired Area.

While the Muslim community has reiterated its commitment to accept the final judicial verdict, whatever it may be, the Sangh Parivar and its associates have taken the stand that they will accept it, only if it is in their favour. This has been repeated by practically all the top leaders of the BJP and the VHP. Unfortunately, the Central Government has not taken so far a clear-cut stand that under the Constitution it has no option but to accept the final judicial verdict and implement the road map.

Negotiated Settlement

The Hindu organizations continue to harp on a negotiated settlement; there have been many spells of negotiations before and after the Demolition. Many compromises were offered by the Muslim side and many alternatives were considered but all negotiations failed because of the demand of the Hindu leadership that the Muslims in any case must surrender the Babri Masjid site to build a Temple on its site , even if there is no evidence to support the myth of Ayodhya being Ram’s janambhoomi or the Babari Masjid site being his janamsthan, or the existence of a Ram Mandir on the site in 1528 and its deliberate destruction by Mir Baqi, Babar’s commander, to build the Babari Masjid in its place. None of these inter-linked propositions bear any historical scrutiny. Moreover, the Hindutva forces make similar demands on thousands of other Masjids but, very generously for the present, claim only two in Mathura near the Krishnajanmabhumi temple (despite the earlier agreement) and in Varanasi near the Viswanath temple. This means that even if the Muslims concede the VHP’s demand in Aydhya they have to face a protracted battle on other masjids.

Sangh Parivar – The Main Culprit

The Liberhan Report on the Demolition in brief brings out the criminal culpability of the Sangh Parivar in clear terms, even though it fails to identify the leaders or the members of the Special Demolition Squads organized by it, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. The Report only indicts some leaders of the Ramajanmabhmi Movement/Sangh Parivar present in Ayodhya as well as the bureaucrats stationed in Faizabad and Ayodhya who failed to do their duty. Some of them have died or retired. Some others are already under prosecution. Two FIR’s filed on 7 December, 1992, have made little progress because of change of Governments; not much is expected to emerge from these two cases which are now pending before the Special Courts in Lucknow and Raebareli, even if the Government now agrees to expedite them as well as to investigate possible case against the others.

Clean Chit to Arch Villain – Narshimha Rao

The Report totally and absolutely exonerates the Arch Villain of the Demolition, the then Prime Minister P.V.Narasimha Rao. This omission needs to be examined in detail because the Report tries to whitewash him and endorse his false defence.

But, before we come to his guilt a word about the Congress role would be in order. Although it did not disown or remove him as it should have done, it refused him the party ticket and the honour of leading it in the next General Election in 1996. But Congress role, right from 1949, right up to 1992 is an anathema. It may be recalled that with a Congress Chief Minister in the state and Prime Minister at the Centre, the Masjid was desecrated in December 1949 and the idols were ‘surreptitiously and illegally introduced’ therein, the Central directives from Nehru and Patel were ignored, the Masjid was placed out of bounds for the Muslims and a pujari was appointed to service the idols, thus turning a standing, ancient masjid into a ‘de facto mandir’. The criminal cases crawled for 30 years; in 1986, the doors of the Masjid were opened for public darshan, converting the de facto mandir into a ‘de jure mandir’ under a politically manipulated and government backed Order of District Judge of 1.2.86. All along the VHP had enjoyed full freedom to propagate its mission. In 1989, it was permitted to perform the Shila Nyas of the proposed Mandir in the disputed area, blatantly against the High Court Order. It was also allowed to establish a workshop for sculpting architectural elements for the proposed mandir-an illegal enterprise. In order to secure political benefit from its oversight and indirect association, the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi launched the electoral campaign from Ayodhya . In this historic perspective, it will not be fair to place the entire blame on Narasimha Rao as he only tried to carry on the traditions and perhaps the real intent of his party. But he was the Prime Minister in 1992 and had repeatedly assured the Muslims and others of protecting Masjid against Demolition and haste bear responsibility.

Rule of Rao

Despite Muslim request, he did not declare the Babari Masjid a National Monument of Historical Importance and thus assume full responsibility for its protection.

While the Kar Sevaks were moving to Ayodhya, Government did not instruct any state government or ask the Supreme Court to stop the movement of kar sevaks or even ban the Kar Seva or to restrict them to approach the Masjid in small groups. The Chief Minister had been questioning the placement of Central Forces in the vicinity of Ayodhya, but Rao failed to put him under notice under Article 355 of the Constitution. Rao never asked the Governor for a formal situation report; on the other hand, he asked him not to send a report. Liberhan defends him on the ground that the Governor did not advise him to place UP under President’s Rule. This was not mandatory as the Prime Minister had many sources of information.

Rao ignored the daily IB briefings, and did not ask any other sources like the Defence Intelligence. He ignored warnings from other parties. Though, he was given full powers to protect the Masjid by all political parties (except BJP) in the National Integration Council in November, 1992, even to apply Article 356, he did not take any effective steps.





Rao simply pushed aside the Cabinet Note prepared by the Home Secretary for imposition of President’s rule and went away to Africa at the critical time.

On 6 December, 1992, even after the attack had begun in the presence of the top leaders of the BJP and the VHP and the solemn assurances by the Chief Minister and top BJP leaders to the High Court and the Supreme Court stood nullified, he did not dismiss the Chief Minister, not even after the first dome had fallen. He did not accept the CM’s resignation submitted at 1 p.m. He convened the Cabinet meeting, after all domes had fallen, and the Mosque had been reduced to rubble and then imposed the President’s Rule.

Even after the President’s rule was imposed, he refused to order central para-military forces to forcibly disperse the kar sevaks who were engaged in levelling the debris and constructing a makeshift temple. Indeed, this was allowed to go on for 36 hours, till it was completed and the idols which had been removed from Babari Masjid were re-installed. Thus, a new fact was created. Rao never took a clear stand on the legality of the makeshift mandir though it was a clear violation of the judicial order.

Subsequently, Rao went back on his promise to rebuild the Masjid. He refused to assure the Parliament that his government will execute the final judicial verdict and implement the roadmap of 1994.

Rao’s behaviour before, during and after the Demolition leads to only one conclusion that for his own reasons, he was a part of the conspiracy, hand-in-glove with the Demolishers. He was in regular touch with the RSS chief Deoras as well as with the BJP leader Advani and acting in collusion with them.

The whole world knew of the intentions and the programme of the Sangh Parivar. They had placed their cards open on the table right from the beginning, particularly after 1985 when the BJP extended its open political support. But the Prime Minister who was the custodian of the Constitution, sworn to maintain the rule of law, who had complete authority and full power to intervene, who had full knowledge of hour-to-hour developments, deliberately undermined the Constitution. That the Report not only gives him a clean chit but absolves him of all responsibility is indeed amazing.

History will one day reveal what transpired between Narasimha Rao and the Sangh Parivar. Even today, we have VHP leader Singhal’s testimony that Rao was sympathetic to their cause!

The Report itself was ready soon after the hearings were completed. But apparently the draft was under ‘negotiations’ with successive governments. This alone explain why Liberhan was given 48 extensions by both NDA & UPA governments and why he took 17 years to submit the Report. It has been suggested that he introduced the Vajpayee factor to save Advani from bearing the full responsibility. To save Rao, he merely reproduced what the former had said in his own defence in his book on Ayodhya. It ignores all the circumstantial evidence which taken together point only in one direction that Narasimha Rao for his own reasons wanted the Masjid to be demolished. Perhaps, he thought that once the Masjid was demolished, the Muslims will forget about it and he would harvest Hindu votes.

Aspersions on Muslims

Liberhan did not summon key witnesses like Vajpayee or Chandrashekhar, or Rao’s colleague Fotedar. He did not summon any Muslim leader, though both the BMMCC and AIBMAC had submitted their affidavits. The BMMCC Convener (Syed Shahabuddin) voluntarily deposed before the Commission and was cross examined. But without citing any evidence Liberhan has criticized and abused Muslim leadership as a whole in general terms. Perhaps having blasted the Sangh Parivar, in order to escape the charge of Muslim ‘appeasement’, he had to malign the Muslim leadership to maintain a balance.

The fact is that the Babari Masjid Movement had never claimed that it would raise an army or call upon Muslim community to defend it against the attack by the kar sevaks. Nowhere on their way to Ayodhya, their movement was disrupted by the Muslim; nowhere was Advani’s Rath Yatra blocked; nowhere the Muslim community organized any counter-resistance.

Muslim leadership put their faith in the Constitution and depended entirely on the Government of the day which had the undeniable responsibility to protect the Masjid and to stop the gathering elements with crime in their mind and heart and on their lips.

From February 86 to December 92 Muslims submitted innumerable memoranda to the Government, placed their views before the political parties, the members of Parliament and issued statements and wrote letters to the media, pleading for a peaceful settlement. They approached the Kamakoti Shankaracharya as well as the Paramacharya to request them to intervene. Some of them offered to permit the Hindu side to build a temple with Ram Chabutra situated in the outer campus of the Babari Masjid as its base or to construct a temple just next to the Masjid.

In public discourse, the Muslims leadership refrained from using any inept language. Whenever, they spoke of Ram; they did it with reverence and respect. But, they consistently refused to surrender even one square inch of the Masjid proper.

One wonders what Liberhan wanted the Muslims to do. Perhaps he expected them to take the law in their hands, to fight it out it out in the streets, to create law and order problems. But they did not. Liberhan does not offer any evidence in support of his thesis that ‘Muslim action created fear in the mind of the Hindus’. Fear of what?

In any case, in many places the Report goes beyond the terms of reference. On one hand he has not recommended specific action against the actual culprits and named only some RSS, BJP and VHP leaders. On the other, he has made generalized recommendation related to administrative, judicial, electoral and police reforms. The Report is thus lost in irrelevancies. It was perhaps doctored in 2 stages. It has been called a pointless report with nothing that competent journalists covering the Demolition could not have penned the day after.

The ATR submitted by the Government is equally pointless except on one point, the possibility of expediting the ongoing prosecution of some, and investigating the cases against the others, though one wonders what will come out of it.

Surprisingly the Report does not take note of Supreme Court’s Order of October 1994 or of the Road Map. Nor does he suggest any alternative formula for further negotiations between the Sangh Parivar and the Muslim community, having left out all negotiations between ’86 and ’92 and thereafter.

Some people have given much importance to the leakage of the Report a few days before it was to be tabled in the Parliament. The leakage is not the real issue because it did not create any new situation. The real issue is why it took 48 extensions and 17 years and hundreds of hearings, not to speak of 8 crores of public money.

Political Fall-out

Some journalists are speculating that the Report will help liberate the BJP from total control by the RSS and it may bring back the non-RSS leadership of the BJP into focus. Some are saying it may help Advani to re-emerge as the supreme leader as he alone has the reputation and experience to defend, if the Government decides to take action against the RSS.

Whatever they may say, the RSS/BJP are not in a position to revive the Ayodhya question. India has undergone tectonic shifts since 1992 and they will not be able to secure public support for a religious cause when perspectives have changed, aspirations have changed and the next generation and the middle classes, though communalized more than ever before, do not care for religion to dominate politics or the community to get a bad name by staging another Ayodhya. Moreover, the same political card cannot be played again. The Congress has emerged stronger and is prepared to indulge in politics of pale saffron in order to attract the Hindu votes when it needs. The bureaucracy or the elite will turn away from the Sangh Parivar, while Congress caters to the national ambition of India of getting a seat on the high table of international diplomacy and global economy.

What Next?

The Demolition is part of history. Even if the final judicial verdict on title to the disputed site goes in favour of the Muslism, they will not have the strength, numerically or politically, to force the Government to take it to its logical and legal conclusion. The Muslims will have no alternative but to accept the fact of the Demolition and the disinclination of the secular forces to make the reconstruction an issue.

The Hindu extremists also have no alternative. In fact, they face a double jeopardy. It is doubtful whether the masses will associate themselves with a re-run of Ayodhya or kar seva or a project to build a temple on the Babari Masjid site. However, out of anger and frustration, the other historic Masjids, particularly those at Mathura and Varanasi, may be targetted even in low key just to keep the fires of Hindutva burning.

Seventeen years later, the shoddy, inconsistent, ill-drafted Report has little relevance, in today’s circumstances and low credibility. But it can still save our Democracy from becoming a Theocracy, if the Government has the political will and takes effective steps to protect the country from the evil designs of those who are preparing for more Ayodhyas. In the light of the Report, the Government must;

1. Ban the RSS, the VHP and the Bajrang Dal which stand indicted

2. Ban all extremist organizations which mentally prepare and physically train volunteers in the use of arms and to take law in their hands.

3. Ban all militant outfits, Senas, Dals, Vahinis etc.

4. Amend the electoral law to deny recognition to a political party which challenges the basic features of the Constitution or seeks to replace the secular state by a theocratic state, based on the supremacy of a particular religion or the dominance of a religious community.

But will it have the will and the guts?

Babri demolition: A symbol of injustice

Once again, nation on alert on the eve of 6th December, the day when a historical Mosque was brought down by the powers and by the organizations who intend to implement their own curriculum on India. Secular India remained always hurdle in their eyes. Believing on secular systems and understanding of other communities’ rights to live freely in India are not in their dictionary. They have other vision for India.

Accepting their vision will allow people of India to live in their own Hindutva constituted India and stern consequences for those who will oppose it, as it seen in Gujarat, in Ayodhya, in Bangalore, in Maharashtra, in Orissa. Even in Maharashtra assembly, when Mr. Abu Asim Azami was attacked for taking oath in Hindi which is national language.

From last few weeks, so many events and incidents came in light. Liberhan report was leaked and exposed half truths. UPA government’s reaction on Liberhan report and unwillingness to take action against those who were indicted in Liberhan report shows that everyone in this hammam is naked. It was hoped that central government will react similarly when the matter will come for punishment of those who openly played their role in this game. Providing shelter to powerful perpetrators or assisting them through political manipulations is an old system of Indian politics. Here is the proof that when saffron fascist powers were found waging the war against the country, political parties and media were the first to come forward to defend them or to cover them by hiding the truth.

It is known to everyone that, destroyers of Babri Mosque will not be punished. May the court deliver its judgment against them, but the result after 17 years is before us, planners and demolishers are openly moving in every corner of India, media and other channels are promoting and highlighting them, it seems that neither razing of Babri Mosque is a crime nor honoring its offenders is an unlawful act.

To divert the attention from the real facts, voices are being raised from various corners that negotiation and dialogue is the only solution of Babri Mosque issue. How negotiations could be the solution to resolve Babri Mosque dispute, while it failed before December 6th, 1992.

Movements were organized, Rath Yatras moved in every part of the country, by untrue statements and by provocative speeches, common Hindus were emotionally manipulated and used against Muslims in each rally organized to assemble Hindutva cadres to demonstrate their power and their fascist might in Ayodhya.

Today, while there is no more mosque, temporary temple is installed, only Hindus are allowed to offer prayer there, and tight security have been arranged to prevent Muslims to enter the site, congress, BJP and other Hindtuva organizations are talking of talks to solve this dispute, but Muslims and Muslim demands are completely driven out from the said site.

Before coming on to the table of negotiation, it should be clear for all parties and for all corners that Babri Mosque before 6th December 1992 was a Mosque and destroying any religious places of any community is a criminal offense and those who participated in such cases, according to Indian laws are culprits and they should have to surrender before the court for their crimes. Their failure in appearing before court, government whether is central or state should have to arrest them and put them before law to receive what they did.

How negotiation can bring an acceptable solution of Babri Mosque when both Congress and BJP didn’t stand on their promises? The then late congress Prime Minister Narsimha Rao had promised to Muslims of reconstruction of Babri Mosque on same place where it was before 6th December 1992 but after having been passed of 17 years of this incident, which is a blot on Indian democracy, the nation is still waiting for the rebuilding of said Mosque.

The site of Babri Mosque should be given to Muslims without any condition. Those who openly or secretly played their role in Babri Mosque, they are trying to cover their face from common Hindus because in these 17 years they failed to deliver any proof which shows that Babri Mosqe where it was built was the place of a temple, let alone the place of birth of Lord Rama. Let their punishment be a lesson for the future generation that India though did fail to protect the historic mosque but did not fail to punish those who were guilty of this aggression against Indian constitution.

Arrest “Liberhan 68” demands TMMK

Chennai: Addressing the Press Conference at Chennai Press Club on Saturday, Professor M.H.Jawahirullah, and President of Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazagam said:

The report of Manmohan Singh Liberhan Commission of Enquiry, constituted after 10 days of the demolition of the Babri Masjid has been made public after a long wait of 17 years and costing around Rs.18 crores, requiring 48 extensions.





Jawahirullah deplored that “the disruptive forces behind the assassination of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi” have been reported in the Liberian’s Commission as the key hands of the pulling down the Babri Masjid. He further stressed that,” It was nothing spontaneous as the Sangh Parivar’s wrong propagation and the Commission has very clearly stated such malice and vindictive nature of gossips.

Jawahirullah further went on to say that, “Liberhan’s Commission has opened the clear truth that the act of demolition is an orchestrated act of vandalism.”

He further said that,” The man who has been so far enjoying as Mr. Clean, and fair minded politician Atal Bihari Vajpayee” and only a puppet under the hands of goon and gawk politicians, has lost such banner and confidence among the people, since he (Vajpayee) also played similar spiteful and unforgiving roles in the demolition course, as per the report of the Commission.

Jawahirullah was emphatically stressed that,” It was RSS the parent body who took to their bosom all the politicians including the bureaucratic and Government machinery to conduct such evil schemes.

Jawahirullah was also very fervently retorted that the then Chief Minister Kalyan Singh’s Government was highly influential in the act of willful wanton mischief, and the Commission has indicated all such events.




Jawahirullah deplored, “Why the commission has been indifferent in disclosing the imbecile failure of the then Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, who actually was having a content sleep while the whole nation mourned and wailed the “Black Sunday” Dec.6, the day Babri Masjid being demolished ignoring the Supreme Court’s Rulings?”

“Was it not Shankar Dayal Sharma, the then President usurped the situation and cautioned Narasimha Rao to address the Nation in Doordarshan? The promise of reconstruction of a mosque came only then?,” asked Jawahirullah.

While the then Congress President Sitaram Kesari and Sonia Gandhi tendered an open apology for an act of sabotage, Jawahirullah wondered why the Liberhan was silent in such disclosure of the facts pertaining to Narasimha Rao.

Jawahirullah reiterated that his party TMMK welcomes the decision of the Union Government to present the copy of the report to the CBI for probing and further investigation. He also emphasized that the Union Government to approach the Supreme Court to constitute a fast track court under its purview to conduct the speedy trial. The “Rae Bareli court has been very slow taking around 17 years” he said. He said a justice has to be speedy to be effective. Among various wise demands the party leader appealed that all those charged as accused may not enjoy bail terms and all indicted, including Vajpayee to be inside cells till the demolition case is disposed off.

To the questions of reporters, he said on 6 December 2009 (Sunday) the TMMK has organized condolence meetings in the 36 district head quarters to be held in a most peaceful manner.

S.Hyder Ali, General Secretary, O.U.Rahmathullah Treasurer, and J.S.Rifayee Deputy General Secretary were also present at the press conference.

Liberhan report: 17 years and Rs. 8 Crore later

Think for a while what is possible in 17 years. A country can rise from the ashes, like Japan and Germany did after the World War-II. Or, backward countries can surge ahead to emerge as economic powerhouses, like the South East Asian countries did between the late 60s and mid-80s, or like China did in mid-80s and continues to do now. On an individual level, a child that has joined class 1 would be an engineer and employed, ready for marriage in those 17 long years.

Now let us think for a while what could have been done with the Rs. 8 crore of public money spent by Liberahan Commission. Suppose it takes Rs. 5 lakh to build a two-room primary school building in a village, we could have built 160 primary school buildings in the countryside. If it was spent on making safe drinking water available to a hundred villages, the funds would have sufficed.

Instead, we got the Liberahan Commission report at the same cost. And, yes, we also got a 13-page sarkari document called Memorandum of Action Taken as a bonus. So let us be content (for now, at least) and see what it all adds up to.

The Memorandum of Action Taken on the Report of the Liberhan Ayodhya Commission of Enquiry is a depressing document. It does not show any official inclination to bring the conspirators of Babri Masjid demolition and the ensuing massacre of Muslims to justice.

This eyewash of an official document would have been comical if it was not tragic. See some of the “actions taken”. Against No. 1.1 and 1.2 of recommendations: on the former the government says, “Noted”, and on the latter, “Agreed”.

On the No. 1.3, it says. “Accepted”, before going on to add, “One of the measures contemplated is Communal Violence (Prevention, Control and Rehabilitation of Victims) Bill”.

This same point is made by the government on a couple of other recommendations as well, while the fact remains that the Bill will further empower a corrupt and communalised police force to victimise the victims.

The alleged actions have been taken on issues under categories, (1) General (2) Civil Services (3) Riot Control (4) Intelligence Agencies (5) Centre-State Relations (6) Religious and Cultural Sites (7) The Press or Media.

Although the Memorandum of Action Taken is largely proforma and cursory, there is still some hope that things can improve if the government is serious about improvements in public life. One recommendation is that the misuse of religion, religious places and religious agenda by a political party should be brought to the Elections Commission’s notice for action and possible disqualification. However, no such action was ever taken against the people fighting election in the name of Ram temple and doing hate politics. It is important to note that the EC under TN Seshan had categorically said it did not have powers to disqualify any party.

The government has cited examples of cases in UP courts against the accused. But the victims of killings in Ayodhya have not got justice, nor have their kin been compensated. There is no mention of those forgotten people. The police say the victims’ kin did not lodge FIRs. Hence nothing can be done about it. The fact is that the survivors were hiding from murderous goonda mobs and the police were seen protecting the goondas rather than the victims. No sane person would risk going to the police stations at such a time.

The tone and tenor of the Memo of Action Taken suggests that the UPA government is not going to confront the Sangh bully. The rising stature of law-breakers has dwarfed law and humiliated the spirit of the Constitution. This is an abnormal situation and must be rectified quickly.

Sangh organisations found to have conspired to destroy the Babri Masjid and unleash nationwide killings must be banned. BJP, which was part of the conspiratorial team, is a political party. Hence, instead of banning it, the EC should confiscate its election symbol till it begins to respect the law of the land.

The over five dozen Sangh leaders identified by the Commission for their participation in criminal activities on December 6 and for hatching the well-thought out conspiracy must be booked for criminal conspiracy, mass murder, spreading anti-Muslim hysteria, destruction of a national heritage (Babri Masjid was a UNESCO World Heritage site also) and demolition of 25 mosques and mazars in Ayodhya besides damage to other property on December 6, 1992.

Their prosecution under Nuremberg Principles is more important than any other action. If the country allows them to go scott free, it will have no moral right to prosecute other terrorists and criminals. Leaving them unpunished will encourage repetition of such crimes in future.

Rebuild Babri Masjid, punish the guilty: IMC-USA

Washington D.C.: Indian Muslim Council-USA (IMC-USA) demands the Indian government to bring the criminals to justice involved in the demolition of the 16th century Babri Mosque in the city of Ayodhya in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India as identified in the Report of the Liberhan Commission of Inquiry that was released recently.

Indian Muslim Council-USA further demands that the Indian government honor the promise given by the former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao to re-build the mosque on its original site.

On December 6th, 1992 defying the orders of the Supreme Court of India and their own promise to the nation, the Hindutva fascist forces demolished the historic Babri Mosque in northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This 16th century Muslim place of worship was destroyed by a frenzied mob of kar-sevaks in spite of assurances from the Hindutva Leaders and the State Administration officials that only symbolic prayers will be performed and that the structure of the Babri Mosque will be safe.

The Liberhan Commission appointed by the Indian government to investigate the destruction of the Babri Mosque submitted the report earlier this year that took more than 16 years of proceedings and recording statements of politicians, bureaucrats and police officials. Led by Indian Supreme Court Judge M S Liberhan the commission identified key individuals and organizations who played a direct role in planning what the commission termed as a "joint common enterprise" that lead to the destruction of the Babri Mosque.

"The Liberhan report is another testimony to the sad state of communal affairs in India and a clear verdict on deep seated resistance towards speaking the truth" said Rasheed Ahmed National President of IMC-USA. Ahmed further stated that "It took 17 years to document the two obvious facts, first that the demolition of the Babri Masjid was a premeditated criminal act by Hindutva leaders and second that BJP is simply a means for RSS to impose fascist regime in India"

Liberhan Commission named 68 individuals as the leading planners and participants directly or indirectly involved in the destruction of the Babri Mosque. Most of the perpetrators listed in the Commission report are associated with Hindutva-fascist groups such as the RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal, all of whom are closely allied with the political Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP, in alliance with several other parties, was in power from 1998 to 2004. These religious extremist groups garner significant support from Non-Resident Indians living in the United States.

Dr. Hyder Khan, National Vice President of IMC-USA said that "I am hopeful that current leadership in India will take moral and bold decisions to check the criminalization of politics through regional tribunals as proposed by the Liberhan Commission and not allow the Hindutva extremist groups propagate intolerant agenda and sectarianism"

After 17 years the Muslims of India who still feel aggrieved at the criminal destruction of the mosque demand that Indian Government immediately initiate criminal and civil action against all accused in the Liberhan Report and that all politicians, individuals, and organizations involved in the crime are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

CIM demands “Liberhan 68” banned from entering Britain

London: The heat on 68 persons identified by Liberhan Commission as guilty of demolition of Babri Masjid on December 6th, 1992 got turned up a bit higher. British Indian Muslims have urged British Government to declare the 68 indicted people persona non grata found guilty by the Justice Liberhan Commission.

In a statement issued to mark the 18th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Mosque, Chairman of Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM) Mr Mohammad Munaf Zeena said, “Although the role in the demolition of the historic mosque of these people, including former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Deputy Prime Minister L. K. Advani, was no secret, Justice Liberhan Commission has established their guilt beyond doubt. Not only are they responsible for the demolition of a religious historic monument, they are also guilty of inciting anti-Muslim riots over the country and the killings of thousands of innocent people. Therefore, in view of not only putting an end to any possible support from British soil to these fascists in India but also to prove that it is against fascism in any form, the British Government must declare these 68 people persona non grata and never allow them enter into the UK.”

Zeena also demanded that the Indian Government must also take without any delay all the necessary steps to prosecute and punish these guilty people and hand over the Babri Mosque site to Indian Muslims.

Babri Mosque was built in 1528 by Baqi Beg Tashqandi, the Governor General of Mughal Emperor Babar to mark the victory of Mughal army over a Pathan Muslim King, Sikandar Lodhi. There is no historic or archaeological evidence to prove either of Babar’s going to Ayodhya or any existence of a Hindu temple on Babri Mosque site. With the connivance of the administration the Mosque was closed to Muslims in 1949 and converted into a de facto temple after the statues of Rama and his consort Sita were smuggled and planted there. However, in order to gain political mileage and financial gains in the 80s BJP leaders suddenly turned their politics towards what they call the liberation of the birth place of Hindu deity Rama and on 6 December 1992 destroyed the mosque in full un-ashamed media glare.

Arrest Advani, other Babri culprits: All India Babri Masjid Re-building Committee

New Delhi: The All India Babri Masjid Re-building Committee (AIBMRC) has demanded the Central Government to arrest to arrest L K Advani and others found guilty for the demolition of Babri Masjid in Liberhan Commission Report.
The AIBMRC will hold a demonstration on 6th December at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding rebuilding of Babri Masjid at its original site in Ayodhya.

“The AIBMRC will also submit a memorandum to President of India demanding arrest of Advani and others found guilty for the demolition of Babri Masjid in Liberhan Commission Report,” said Mohammed Younus Siddiqui, president, AIBMRC.

Observe 6th Dec as Prayer Day: Muslim Students Organization Of India

New Delhi: The Muslim Students Organization of India (MSO) has appealed to all Muslims through out the country to observe 6th December as Prayer Day. On the same day 17 years ago, Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was demolished by Hindutva extremists led by BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders including L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi.

“Demolition of Babri Masjid was a black day in the history of secular India and it is challenge for all secular Indians to not tolerate anymore the anti Indian forces involved in disintegrating our beloved country,” Shahnawaz Warsi of MSO said in a statement today.

The students group has demanded punishment to the culprits indicted for the demolition.

“The hatred spread by these forces has been uncovered by the Liberhan Commission. Those involved must be punished. We the Muslims are watching the action of this Congress government very closely whether it is interested in punishing the guilty or not?” Warsi said.

MSO will observe this day as Prayer Day and will arrange Prayers at various places in different states, he announced.
