BJP flays Cong for ignoring ISI treat GUWAHATI, Jan 8 – Accusing the Congress of turning a blind eye to the growing ISI activities in the State, the BJP today said that the apathy of both the Congress Government in the State and the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre was encouraging the dreaded Pakistani intelligence agency, which was behind a sinister conspiracy to carve out a “Greater Islamistan” comprising Assam and parts of West Bengal and Bihar through unabated influx from the neighbouring Bangladesh.“In spite of the perceptible change in the demographic pattern caused by influx, as also the evidence of the ISI’s active presence in the State, the State Government has been ignoring such a matter of vital public interest for the narrow political gain of vote bank,” BJP State president Indramoni Bora told newsmen today. “The State Government’s silence even after the Union Home Minister’s recent admission about ISI presence in the State is all the more deplorable,” he said, adding that the Centre too had done precious little to tackle the grave danger to the State. Questioning the Congress’ “so-called secular credentials”, Bora said that minority groups within the Congress were demanding reservation on the basis of their majority in 38 of the 126 assembly constituencies in the State. “If this is not communal politics, then the Congress should better redefine the term communal,” he said.Stating that census figures have shown a 300 per cent increase in the growth rate of the State’s Muslim population that has increased from 27 lakh in 1961 to 82 lakh in 2001, Bora said that such an abnormal increase could be possible only because of unabated infiltration from across the border. Bora, however, asserted that the BJP was determined to thwart the evil move of the Congress, and said that it was mobilising the public from the grassroots so that they could put up a united resistance to against the ISI and the Bangladeshi demographic invasion.“For us it is not a political issue, but a matter of utmost public interest and a cause of the State,” Bora said. “This is also our silver jubilee year and we have stepped up our campaign to reach out to the people, especially those living in the villages. Of the 25,000-odd villages of the State, we will be covering 15,000 this year itself, establishing a close rapport with the people in the process,” the State BJP president said and added that the party membership in the State would also be enhanced to 5 lakh from the current 2.5 lakh.Accusing the Congress of failing on many fronts, Bora said that there had been simmering ethnic tensions during the tenure of the present State Government, and unless addressed in the right earnest it would deteriorate into a major law-and-order problem. “Besides infiltration, solution to the ethnic problems, dialogue with militants, flood, unemployment ranked among the list of priorities for the BJP,” he said.
This were the report publish in a major news paper , according to Indian Nationalist party (BJP) , the muslim population have increase due to infiltration from across the border , but Mr Bora , why are you allways talking about infiltration only of muslims , why are you not talking about hindus they have also migrated from across the border and also the internal migration that is within india , let us look towards the millions of hindu biharis , marwaris , nepalis and so on , look through your magnifying eyes you will look the truth , and the truth is the hindus exadus is increasing , you can not say that hindus are in majority in asom , you are in majority by manipulating the population , if you will look then muslims are in majority in northeast and not hindus .
Mr Bora let us work for the good of the people and not to divide , we in north east should think for the good of the people and not communal hatred as you say .
